Interestingly, we’re now heading for public land again. Who knows – maybe the other end will come within striking distance of the surface besides the river as well. Sump 9 has a dry bypass if someone was prepared to do some bolt climbing but the rest are definitely very wet.

Great work Liz and Steve in your latest epic ‘push’ to sump 9 and beyond. I look forward to hearing about future developments and am awed by the logistics of the successive push expeditions. The Murrindal Potholes Eastern Master Cave – aka Elk River – is Buchan’s Wookey Hole! Would that the early sumps had dry bypasses.

I hope so…and I also hope it stays mostly dry. Breaking through the long underwater stretch of sump 7 took us a long time and a lot of effort.

The map is a work in progress as we speak – Peter will have it done in a few days. The distances are definitely getting up there, as my very sore muscles will attest. It’s exciting to be back in dry passages again. Long may it continue.

Wow It just seems to keep on going. Thanks for the update. Any chance of seeing a copy of the survey? Damn epilepsy. Can’t even help with the dry part.
