I’m delighted to announce that myself and Neil Vincent will be judging the CDAA 40th Anniversary Photo Competition. As you would expect for a cave diving association, the competition has categories for cave diving photos taken dSLRs and compacts in both the cavern zone and the dark zone, as well as the humorous, historical and short video sections. There’s some very cool prizes on offer – check out the list below. The finalist shots will be displayed in Mt Gambier for the week leading up to the AGM on November 9th, with winners announced and prizes presented at the dinner that evening.
If you’re a CDAA member and even thinking of entering, please do! For those who were CDAA members but aren’t any more, your photos from more than 10 years ago are welcome in the Historical category (or perhaps it’s time to get back in the water). The deadline for all entries is September 30th so there’s still time to go diving and get that cracking shot.
There are more details (including the full terms and conditions, entry form and entry method) on the CDAA website.
The other exciting thing that happened is that we finally passed the 12 month mark in the count-down to Indonesia. On August 6th next year I will board the Arenui for two weeks of incredible diving from Alor to Komodo. It’s exciting to see the manta pictures coming off the boat at this time of year. For more info on the itinerary check out the Liquid Diving Adventures page. If you’ve ever considered diving Indonesia, join me! Drop me an email at liz@lizrogersphotography.com
And last up, some of you may have seen that my Weebubbie shot made the top 250 finalists in the Red Bull Illume competition. This competition last ran in 2011 when it saw a lot of interest. They definitely topped that this year with 28,257 entries from over 6,000 photographers all over the world. I’m very proud to be included in the final 250. There are some amazing shots in there – check them out here.
