The rest of my shots are up here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/errbrr/sets/72157627380182613/ As for what we saw down there – not much! The water was pretty murky.

Cheers,

Liz

It was a great week having a look down there – very dark under the water. I’ve just put some photos up in my gallery, including one of a set of circular weights we found down by the water. Were these used on your shot line in 1959? We had a possum steal half an orange and run off, but no other wildlife dramas to worry about. We didn’t even see any cassowaries…

Cheers,
Liz

Your photos have really taken me back to the “good old days”! I can only wish I’d been there to see your mob in action this time around. I can still remember many bits and pieces of our 1959 expedition but some fine details have faded badly, but I remember clearly having my right arm torn off (figuratively speaking) by a possum that came right into our camp and climbed up on my camp stratcher beside me in the dark. It was after the uneaten remains of my evening meal.
We had a great time; I hope you did as well!
Congratulations and well done!

Tally-ho!
Bob King
